Sightseeing in Milano 16th May 2002

Today we are going to do some sightseeing in the city! Instead of the train, this time we are going by car, with a friend of Dagmar's, but this turned out to be a bad idea since there was some traffic jam and we ended up stuck in a queue for more than an hour. It is HOT here! 

Once in the city we had to take the underground in order to get to the center. Boy, this is a noisy and uncomfortable way to travel... I really don't know how these people manage to do it every day! Ah, today we changed backpack :) I think I like this one even better than the other, there is more place to stir in my front pocket and I don't have to share it with the cellphone. I really am not sure what those electromagnetic stuff could do to me..

I wanted to have a picture taken with this nice fellow here who lets all the pidgeons sit on him. 

 
Then we went to meet Dagmar's favourite person who has been dead for a while as I understand, but people still kind of worship him here. His name is Leonardo da Vinci.

  
This is a place called "Galleria", a closed shopping road in the center of the city, really old, nothing like modern shopping malls! Everything is OLD here! And most of it not really well taken care of...

Here I'm sitting in front of the opera house of Milano, it is called La Scala, and Dagmar gets all dreamy when she talks about it! I don't know if it is just because they play good music there or if she dreams about singing there herself!

   

After our walk through the city we went to greet some friends of Dagmar who work in a hotel (she worked there also many years ago). This is one of those really luxurious places where everybody wears formal stuff and behaves very important. I had some fun slithering back and forth on the marble desk but was rather happy when we finally went home, I was getting tired after this long day and all the walking around and seeing stuff!
Ah, before I forget it, all the people we met today are sending big hugs to Ricky, Dagmar tells everybody about where I come from and whom I belong to and people are really nice and caring and say they are sending lots of healing and loving thoughts toward Ricky!
