Blanche, newest addition to the household
After a few months with Rossini
I was starting to realize that he was wearing down poor Ketchup
with his continuous zooming and running after her, trying to wrestle and never
letting her doze in peace.
In December 2002, the day I went to
my friend Franco's home to bury my beloved fur Angel Cios,
and took home little Rossini with me, I had noticed a small white cat in a cage
in one room. This was Blanche, rescued by Franco's girlfriend from an abbandoned
car. I fell a tiny bit in love with her already then, but was still so
overwhelmed by Cios's death that even taking Rossini home with me was already
something I was not too sure about. And Franco also seemed to have found
somebody who wanted to adopt the little white girl.
When I talked to him towards the end
of February 2003, I discovered Blanche was still living in the cage.. because
Franco's other cats continued to attack her. So I asked him if I could have her,
and a few days later he brought her to my place!
She bonded immediately with Rossini
(rather too well, I fear, since they both are not neutered yet.. something to do
in the immediate future!) and now they are busy running after each other most of
the day, and Ketchup can finally sleep peacefully again. She and Blanche mostly
ignore each other, just an occasional hiss if they come into too close contact.
I hope they will eventually become friends too!
And now to the pictures!
The first month with us
